Artist's Garret

"Artist's Garret" reflects the current zeitgeist and controversy in the art world over generative AI art tools. There are real fears expressed by many in the art community that AI will replace humans in the creative process, or at the very least take away their livelihoods. My own belief is that AI is a tool among many digital tools that ultimately most benefit experienced artists... if they choose to learn it. That said, concerns of how AI models are trained and how living artists' styles can be instantly replicated are indeed worrisome, and artists deserve greater legal protection against unlicensed use of their work, and just compensation for work that they grant AI toolmakers permission to use.
